What to do in Favignana

Unlike major holiday resorts, you’re not going to find neon-lit nightclubs and massive bars in Favignana, but what will you will find is a type of night-life befitting the laid-back vibe of the island. Chilled-out all the way is part of island life, so if you enjoy your evening’s entertainment to go hand in hand with a relaxing state of mind, then you’ll fit right in.

Having said that, Favignana certainly isn’t boring on the night-life front, and the island doesn’t shut down when the sun disappears over the horizon! Although there aren’t organised night-life sections, not even in Favignana Town, you will find summer beach parties, and you will find a couple of cocktail bars which open until the early hours on the main streets. Sipping a cool cocktail and watching the sun go down is the perfect end to a relaxing day.

These summer beach parties we just talked about aren’t always mass organised, and sometimes this is the case of locals or tourists deciding to have their own party, and taking to the sand. Having said that, during the peak summer months you will find at least one per week which is slightly more organised, although not recognised by the local authorities. Despite that, it is something that goes on, so if you see one happening, and you hear the sound of bands playing or DJs busting some tunes, then head over and have a dance! There’s nothing quite like a Mediterranean beach party.

Your hotel in Favignana will probably have a bar you can relax in at the end of the day, and if you have a self-catering apartment you could easily organise your own little gathering, buying some food from the market, cooking a meal, and having a few drinks on the balcony.

Favignana isn’t Ibiza, and that’s part of its charm. If you’re looking for banging night-life then perhaps this island isn’t for you, but for couples, and also for families, the pace of the evening entertainment on offer is perfect.

We just mentioned that families will find the night-life on offer in Favignana ideal, because you’re not having to spend constantly at kid’s discos and expensive bars, but during the day the opportunities are the same.

Kids will love the outdoorsy nature of the island, with a day at the beach being the ultimate treat. We mentioned before about cycling, walking, swimming, and boat trips, so there are plenty of activities to keep the little ones occupied.

I guess you could say that a holiday in Favignana is the ideal opportunity to spend quality family time together, without the major distractions of big resorts, where it seems to be go, go, go all holiday, and you feel like you need another break at the end to recover!

Put simply, Favignana might not be neon-lit and bustling, but it is pleasantly meandering and stunningly beautiful.
